The Cardiff and Vale Tracheostomy team working withh staff across NHS Wales have teamed up with the Spread & Scale Academy and the Institute of Clinical Science and Technology to create a novel educational package, database and service improvement platform.
Results of an all Wales critical care survey:
“Nurses and AHPs in Wales are generally supportive of critical care research but there is a need for improved research-related education at undergraduate level for these professions. Communication between research teams and clinicians is a key area of potential improvement in engagement, and the development of local strategies such as the introduction of research champions and attendance at research meetings could prove beneficial. Critical care managers in Wales should actively encourage nurse and AHP participation in research activity.”
